Michael Morpurgo – Down Burrow Lane

Thank you and much love to Michael and Clare Morpurgo for signing books and chatting to the throngs of people who attended our event on Saturday 31st October 2026.

Michael also treated us all to an impromptu reading of Grandpa Christmas from his newly-published edition of Michael Morpurgo’s Christmas Stories.

Thank you also to the five, brilliant Year 11 event volunteers from Okehampton College – and their wonderful teacher Mrs Teixeira. The students followed their brief impeccably, with admirable poise and initiative, and it felt a real privilege to host a literary event alongside the next generation of readers, dreamers, writers, thinkers… movers and shakers!

Copies of Down Burrow Lane, Michael Morpurgo’s Christmas Stories, and many other of his titles, are available now from the bookshop.
